Nurse Practitioner - Indigenous Health

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) at Paul First Nation, you will play a criticial role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals and families within the Paul First Nation community. You will work collaboratively with a team to deliver a wide range of services, including diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions, performing routine physical exams, drawing blood, and promoting health and wellness.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary Care Services: Provide comprehensive primary care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic illnesses.

  • Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough health assessments, including blood draws, physical exams, and health histories.

  • Care Planning: Develop and implement individualized care plans, focusing on preventive health, chronic disease management, and patient education.

  • Collaborative Care: Work closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.

  • Community Engagement: Participate in community health initiatives, educational programs, and outreach activities to promote health and wellness.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, adhering to professional standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Advocacy: Advocate for patients within the healthcare system, ensuring equitable access to healthcare resources and services.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited institution, with a focus on advanced clinical practice.

  • Certification: Current enrollment with CRNA extended practice roster.

  • Experience: Minimum of five years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a primary care setting. Experience in Indigenous or rural healthcare is an asset.

  • Skills: Strong clinical skills, including diagnostic and treatment abilities. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Cultural Competence: Understanding of Indigenous health issues and the ability to deliver culturally sensitive care.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $62.74-$72.00 per hour

Expected hours: 31 per week
